  1. They are so pretty. I love how everything was pretty back then, right down to the cards hairpins came on. Now things like that are just downright ugly!

    Thanks for sharing ;)

  2. I love these, esp. the ballerina themed one with the colored pins on her skirt. That is begging to be translated into a screen printed fabric. I had not even seen vintage colored bobby pins before, only the natural hair or metal toned ones. I am very fortunate that my extremely fabulous and vintaged out hairdresser has a wonderful collection of vintage hair items throughout her shop. One wall is covered in framed packages from vintage hairnets and is such a great idea for displaying these (not sure why I couldn't have thought of that myself, but I didn't). I have also been finding recently that sometimes sewing supplies (button backings, a zipper package) will also feature extremely nice period hairstyles too.

  3. Funny you should say that Melina - I'm planning a post with some of my button card collection one of these days too!

  5. Wow, I remember those metallic hair clips... on the ballerina! I am 53 yrs old and our mother bought them for us when I was a child. I adored them.. I felt a shiver of nostalgia when I saw them!!
    LOVE your site...
I'm a bit overweight and can't really wear lots of things, but love sewing and repurposing.. and love your amazing understanding of that era!!
