Forty Years of Ascot Fashions (1947)

Particularly interesting to note is the sneer with which sartorial commenters of the 1940s regarded the styles of the 1920s - "1925 - The Figure Disappears. The 'Twenties in all their horror -- short skirt, slipped waist, bob and wide curls, and the beehive-crown, cram-it-down hat." - reminiscent of the disdain in which many today hold the fashions of the 1980s.
