Trying out Spoonflower

You may recall the hanger print dress I was vaguely planning to alter. Well, I gave the dress a soak in stain remover and it came up so well I couldn't bring myself to attack it with scissors. But I also love the fabric so much I didn't want to let it go. So I decided to try a different idea. I created a seamless tile from a scan of the fabric, and another I from the graphics in a 1940 magazine article, and I've ordered some trial swatches from Spoonflower. I'm super excited to see how the prints come out!

I'm now all enthused with the idea of creating my own prints! What will I create next? I've spent the last hour on flickr and etsy researching vintage graphics and wallpaper prints which could work. There are also some fabulous prints illustrated in my vintage pattern catalogues and magazines that I would love to try and recreate, like these two from Home Fashions June 1950:
