Those who follow me on facebook and twitter already had a sneak preview, but this weekend a bunch of us headed over to Shona's for a group session with our lovely hairdresser Wendy. After much debate, I decided to take the plunge and go for a much shorter style - quite an adventure after having long hair most of my life (the only time I've had it anywhere like this short was when I was about 11, and I quickly let it grow back out that time).
And the day after...
What do you think? My mother and sister say it makes me look younger. Either way, I'm delighted with it - it's perfect for styling 30s, 40s, 50s or 60s (when Wendy first blowdried it, she gave it a fabulous Jackie Kennedy bouffant - so much fun!). I've been trying out different hats with this new length too.
Now I just need to learn how to style it properly with rollers and things. I've never really been able to do pincurls easily because it's so thick and I'm unskilled, but at this length I might actually be able to manage it - watch this space!

Oh it's perfect! Really suits you, it's so perky and youthful, all your hats will take on a different look now!

Such a lovely style on you! That length is very versatile too! X
ReplyDeleteOH MY!!!! You will love having shorter hair - I know I did! It does take a bit of getting used to - but your curls will last longer, be more uniform when you set them and be quicker to set too!! It looks FAB :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks lovely on you! Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteHave fun with it!
Really nice! Shorter hair is just so much easier to dry and to style. Even when I got 3 inches cut off last haircut, its made such a difference! :)

ReplyDeleteI think you look fabulous, ma'am! It suits you very well. :) I had my hair about that length last fall, and loved how easy it was to take care of and curl!

I love your new haircut - you look beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great- suits you very well indeed! I really want to get my hair to that sort of length again, but I have told myself I can’t until next year! I think, well I know that you will be able to style it so much easier with shorter locks.

You look great! I hope you will share any styling/rolling secrets you learn - I have similarly thick hair and never could get the hang of it. My grandma, the queen of rollers, had baby hair and she could never get my hair to behave, it was beyond her.
ReplyDeleteIt looks absolutely charming and yes I agree it makes you look younger!
ReplyDeleteI guess I'll have to rock the boat and say although the new style is fun, adorable, and youthful, I prefer the longer locks. Your long hair always looks so glamorous. But nothing can diminish your sparkling smile! Cheers!
