Summer makes life worth living

Sunshine makes me happy. Hula hooping makes me happy. Happy day!

Peasant blouse, New Look (last year); Shorts, made to measure in Thailand; Sandals, Marks & Spencer; Bakelite & plastic bangles, various; 1950s hairslide, gift from mother.

Also, anyone near Ealing wants to come along to hula hooping with my lovely instructor Kim it's at Gold's Gym in Hanwell, 1:30pm on a Wednesday. You have to be a gym member, but if you don't want to join I can get a "guest pass" for £15 which is for the whole day, so you can use the sauna, jacuzzi etc. Kim also sells the hoops for £15 each.

  3. Ooh, I live in Ealing and am quite tempted by a hula hooping class! I could hula hoop for hours as a kid but don't seem to be able to any more! I'm not a member of Gold's Gym so would have to think about the guest pass route. Will have a think about it and e-mail you. Jane x

  4. I haven't seen one of these for years, my cosuins and I used to play with them all the time. We managed to get a proper one eventually but my uncle improvised with some bamboo and boy did it hurt when it clattered us!

  5. You are so adorable!! I haven't hula hooped in ages. I bet it's a great work out, though. I think I will have to pick one up. I love this outfit on you- so summery and fun! x Brittany Va-Voom Vintage

  7. When I was a little girl, I rocked the hula hoop. Now, not so much. The hula hoop is so much fun!

  8. You look so pretty in your "sports dress". If only all the sports clothes were so nice. Doing sports with short hair is surely more functional, isn't it? I like your haircut and think your mother and sister are right. Have fun and go on hula hooping.

  13. Aaah lovely Charlotte you are like a little ray of sunshine cute outfit you have got such good style!
This is actually Charlottes hula teacher here HELLO EVERYONE :D
I must say she rocks the hula hoop and since she has been coming to class has literally got 'hula hooked' and has built an impressive repertoire of tricks! Charlotte is clearly a very stylish individual but it is sheerly through practice sometimes she has been down the gym daily with her hoop! I urge everybody to try it, people always think they won't be able to do it but hula hoops have come on in leaps and bounds and if you have the right size and weight for you it's not as difficult as you think anybody that doesn't give it a go is missing out on some serious fun go on and give it a whirl!! xx
