Sewing For 2013

Having a sewing schedule worked pretty well for me over 2012 - although I didn't complete everything I'd planned, I did like having a framework to refer to. So I'm going for the same again in 2013. I'm not going into much detail here because I like the unveiling to be a surprise, but this is a little peek into what you can expect to see over the coming twelve months.

January
  • Finish red 40s skirt
  • Make do and mend: refashion monogram silk blouse [started]
  • Pinstripe pencil skirt
  • Start sewing quilt top
  • House dress [started]

February
  • Green skirt
  • Valentine dress
  • Wool felt dress
  • Coat?

March
  • Birdie dress (a design from my sketchbook)
  • 1940s Chevron shirtwaist (also from the sketchbook)
  • Sailor dress (carried over from last year! I could never find the right fabric)
  • Dominoes & Daisies tea dress (carried from last year)

April
  • 1940s dress with contrast pleats (another design from my sketchbook)
  • Betty Grable outfit
  • Stripe 1940s shirtwaist
  • Grade pattern and make muslin for 1940s playsuit

May
  • Stripe blouse
  • (Spoonflower project) Clotheshanger sundress
  • Pedal pushers
  • (Spoonflower project) Hattie sundress

June
  • Pink stripe seersucker shirtwaist
  • Floral blouse
  • Playsuit

July
  • Circle skirt
  • (Spoonflower project) Poolside playset (carried over from last year)

August
  • Niagara halterneck dress
  • Rizzo turquoise blouse

September
  • Cowboy print blouse
  • Pink bow housedress
  • Navy skirt

October
  • Bow sequin neckline dress - wool crepe
  • Skirt suit (tailoring - eek!)
  • 1940s trousers

November
  • Quilted circle skirt?
  • Plaid/check 40s pinafore dress

December
  • Christmas dress
  • Airforce blue A-line skirt

It makes me look like I'm really organised, but really it's just a way of breaking down my huge sewing list into a manageable format.

  1. Holy guacamole isn't your list impressive! I've only started sewing in May and not sure I can handle a list! But doing a schedule is great indeed! I really need to go through my patterns and make stuff!!

Happy new year! Have a great sewing year!
