Omg! YES! Love that sweater...in fact, I love all of these!!
ReplyDeleteVintage sweaters are my favourite item of vintage clothing, above dresses, above shoes, above all the accessories. Shame I can't knit though!
ReplyDeleteI love that red one with the white stripes too. Can't wait to see your scottie dog jumper.

I LOVE sweaters, and 30s and 40s sweaters are my total favorite of all the vintage world! I want to learn to knit better, so hopefully I'll be able to make something like one of these!
ReplyDeletelove, love, love this sweaters!!!!
ReplyDeletewish i could order them. thanks for showing!
If I had the skill and time to knit these...if only, though!
ReplyDeleteOh how I adore each and every one of them! The scottie dog is fabulous - I really hope you make one like it and share it with us. If I could wave a magic wand and have any of the right now, I think I'd want the one with the delightful playing card suits on it. So fun!

I love all of these - the bucking bronco is amazing. But the deer and the squirrels are my favourite. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI can believe how cute these all are!! The Scottie, the red & white stripes and the Squirrels are my faves.
ReplyDeleteI must learn how to knit!!
Sigh... just plain ol' prettier than what I see at stores now.... hubby and I have often joked that we were born too late, would have fit perfectly into the 50's!
ReplyDeleteI love those sweaters. I'm especially attracted to the squirrel for some reason. :)
ReplyDeleteDelish! I wish some enterprising person would recreate these but in bigger bust sizes too. I'd definitely be a customer.
ReplyDeleteMight be worth having a look at Susan Crawford's Stitch in Time books as she resizes vintage knitting patterns and there are lots of lovely ones. Sometimes it is possible to find vintage patterns in larger bust sizes, I have found a few in charity shops etc. I knit to vintage patterns and am in the process of setting up in business so just let me know if you want something.
DeleteOh goodness, how I adore 40's knitwear! Shame I've never found any, and can't knit more than a scarf! I love the novelty ones...squirrels, scotty dogs, skiers, decks of cards? *swoon*
ReplyDeleteI like jumpers of any vintage ... 1920s- 2010s! Not a very sexy admission but with a smart skirt or trousers and accessories you can wear them anywhere (that's not too warm).
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the whole animals theme up there. Animal knitwear = you're never too old LOL.
Oooh I LOVE sweaters! I wear one almost everyday during the winter months here in New England.
ReplyDeleteI really like the blue sweater in the first image. :)
these are amazing! I'm head over heels in love with the squirrel sweater.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous sweaters - it is difficult here, in summer it is too hot for them, and winter is too cold, there are only a couple of weeks inbetween when these can we worn - very frustrating. I need to work this out and then start knitting accordingly, I have quite a collection of patterns from the 30s, 40s and 50s.
ReplyDeleteI love them all. The link to the tripple bow sweater is broken. I would love to own the pattern. I'm in a sweater mod now, Will go find a Nice One to wear. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic collection of knitwear! It is o hard to decide on a favourite. Torn between the triple bows and the striped cuffs and bow ties.
