{Style Inspiration} Colourful Winter Dresses

I love bright colours all year round, but I feel it's especially important in the grey days of winter - a splash of colour helps to lift one's outfit and one's mood. And who could help but be lifted by these wonderful war-era dresses?

Beautiful bright dresses in Sears, 1939 - love the green one!

Everywoman magazine, 1945 - I love the slimming contrast panel on the brown suit jacket.

  1. I love the blue dresses, but especially the one in the first ad! Makes you wish you had those patterns.

  2. I love them all, especially the green one in the first picture-the belt is great! You're right, who wants to wear drab colors in the winter? It's already so yucky out, we might as well brighten it up with our clothes!

  4. I'm with you 100% when it comes to the desire for, and importance of, wearing punchy hues this time of year. It's really quite amazing how much a vibrant, cheerful outfit can elevate one's mood during the dark, dreary second half of winter.

  5. I especially love the dresses in the first add! Such beautiful gem tones, and the dresses themselves are amazing! They look like effortless glam, the kind of thing you can just throw on, low maintenance, and still look awesome, my favorite kind of outfit!
